Massive Cranes is a collaborative musical project blending trip-hop, alternative hip-hop, and atmospheric electronic sounds. The project was formed by Polish producer and rapper Adam Ostrowski (widely known as OSTR) and UK-based vocalist/musician Dan Thurlow. The trio is rounded out by classical pianist Helen Fisher.

The project took shape when Thurlow and Ostrowski bonded over their mutual experiences battling cancer. While Thurlow was undergoing hospital treatments, Ostrowski sent him rough beats to work on, using music as a source of rehabilitation and comfort.
