Alternative pop shaped by soul, rock and subtle flamenco influences: Matilda Gracia celebrates the release of her new EP ‘My Power’.

Inspired by 2000s artists like KT Tunstall and Nelly Furtado, as well as Spanish artist Rosalía and Irish soul-folk voice Hozier, Matilda blends percussive guitars, bold melodies and honest storytelling into something that feels both modern and rooted. Her songs explore identity, resilience, mental health and female empowerment, always led by the intention to connect and make people feel understood.

Writing mainly in English but also in Spanish, Matilda’s music reflects both sides of her heritage. There’s a rhythmic quality to her acoustic guitar playing, an emotional directness in her lyrics and a soulful edge to her voice that gives her sound a warmth and intensity all at once.

Her recent singles Little Pieces, Blood in the Water and Health Hazard received support from BBC Introducing, helping introduce her to a wider UK audience.
