'Rapper’s Delight is RJR’s Monthly Hip-Hop showcase with headliners and cypher.
Rising Son first appeared on the UK Hip-Hop scene in the mid nineties. He has been both a solo artist and a member of various groups until he left the game in 2012. It was with his group P.G.M (A Phu Good Men) he made the most noise, and introduced the world to artists like 'Reveal' and 'Doc Brown'.
Most notably, Rising Son appeared and a featured artist on Nas' Streets disciple album on the track Thief's Theme (remix), after which he independently released two mixtapes - 'Hoodstarr: The Gift Tape' and 'Hoodstarr 2: Blood, Sweat & Beers'. The best original songs from both Mixtapes have been compiled recently into a 'Best Of...' album of songs recorded between 1999 and 2010 called 'Rise Of The Phoenix'.
Name another artist who's debut album is a 'Greatest Hits' Collection! After an 11 year hiatus Rising has re-discovered his lyrical prowess as he returns to the game in 2023 with the almighty single 'Deadtime', from the forthcoming EP of their same name. The plan is to follow this up with 2 more EP's to comprise 'The Dark Phoenix Trilogy' so keep your eyes peeled on this one.
